Browser Extension

The Vouch Browser Extension is designed to make it easy to record, share and request video all without leaving your browser tab. The following guide outlines how to install and use the extension.

Installing the Extension

The Vouch Browser Extension is available to download from the Chrome store. To add to your browser, simply click on the Add to Chrome button on the listing page.

The extension currently supports the latest version of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Recording

The Vouch Browser Extension allows you to record your screen, camera (or both) natively within the extension.

To start recording, simply click on the Record button located in the top right hand corner of the extension pane.

This will load up the recording feature within the extension. From here, you can choose to enable any combination of Screen, Camera and Microphone for the recording process.

The configuration options available (from left to right) are:

  • Enable/disable Screen
  • Enable/disable Camera
  • Enable/disable Microphone

Enabled options will be teal, whilst disabled options will be white.

To change what Camera and/or Microphone will be used for the recording process, click on the cog on the right hand side.

Video recording

To record with just your camera, simply deselect the screen option on the extension pane.

Once you click Start recording, the recorder pane will expand to take over the screen, allowing you to see clearly what is being captured. To stop recording, simply click on the stop button at the bottom of the pane.

Post recording, you will be presented with the option to watch the recording, save & upload to your Vouch account, retake the recording or discard.

If you select save & upload you will be presented with a series of sharing options, including copying a playlink, sharing to social, generating a QR code or an animation GIF embed.

Screen Recording

The Vouch extension offers the option to record your screen or your screen and camera together in the same recording.

To record your screen simply ensure that the screen icon has been selected.

Once you click Start recording, you will be given the option to select whether you wish to record a tab, window or an entire screen.

As soon as you hit share, the recorder will count down from 3 to 0 and the controls will be hidden away. To stop recording, simply click on the extension icon or the stop sharing button.

Post recording, you will be presented with the option to watch the recording, save & upload to your Vouch account, retake the recording or discard.

If you select save & upload you will be presented with a series of sharing options, including copying a playlink, sharing to social, generating a QR code or an animation GIF embed.

Library

The Vouch Browser Extension provides access to all Videos and Requests within your account.

Results are sorted in descending order based upon when they were created.

Each record in the library will have the following options (from left to right):

  • Copy an animated GIF email embed
  • Copy playlink to Video or URL to a Request
  • Play the respective Video and access full sharing options
  • Open the record in Vouch

Share options

From the main listing view, you can easily copy the animated GIF email embed by clicking on the GIF button or the respective playlink / URL by clicking on the copy button.

If you click on the play button, you will be presented with a range of additional sharing options.

These options include:

  • Copy Playlink URL
  • Share to Facebook
  • Share to LinkedIn
  • Share to Twitter
  • Generated QR Code
  • Copy animation GIF Email Embed to clipboard
