Designing intro & outro videos

The Vouch video templates are designed with versatility in mind, enabling customers to seamlessly incorporate both intro and outro videos into their content.

Whether you wish to upload an existing video file, record a new video directly, or select a video from your library, our platform supports all these options to enhance your outputs. It’s important to note that when adding intro and outro videos, the responsive design of Vouch outputs—such as embeds, downloads, and playlinks—ensures a smooth and adaptive viewing experience across various devices.

This guide will provide key considerations to help you make the most out of your video features.

Dimensions

When creating intro / outro videos, it’s important to be aware of the different outputs that your videos be displayed on. If you are primarily looking to showcase your videos on social platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube shorts, you are going to want to ensure that your intro / outro videos are designed to be 9:16 (Portrait) versus for standard Instagram posts 1:1 (Square) is generally the recommended ratio.

If you are looking at creating aspect ratio specific outputs, Vouch recommends creating your videos to the following dimensions (depending on whether you want the output to be HD, FHD or 4K):

Aspect RatioHD (1080p)FHD4K
16:9 (Landscape)1920 x 10802560 x 14403840 × 2160
9:16 (Portrait)1080 x 19201440 x 2502160 x 3840
1:1 (Square)1080 x 10801440 x 14402160 x 2160

If you just want to create an intro / outro that can be used across multiple aspect ratios, then Vouch recommends that you look to position the most important parts of your video in the middle of your video similar to the diagram below:

The easiest way to ensure you’re intro / outro video can work across both 16:9 and 9:16 videos is to look to position all core elements within the middle third of your video.

If you are using designers like Canva or Adobe Express, both these tools offer the ability to turn on guides which will display the middle third.

Anything you display in the middle third (including the bleed areas) will be rendered on both 16:9 and 9:16 videos.

If you are looking to make something that will work across 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 videos, the recommendation is to try and position any important items right in the middle of the video. Vouch recommends using a 3×3 grid for this, and aiming for the middle square and surrounding bleed.
