Advocacy overview & setup

Employee advocacy gets your people sharing approved company content on their own LinkedIn profiles. Admins create advocacy posts on the Advocacy page. Advocates share them from the advocacy portal in one click, or from a Slack, Microsoft Teams or email notification. Vouch tracks shares, reach, interactions and earned media value (EMV).

Set up advocacy

  1. Connect your channels. In Organization settings, then Integrations, connect Slack or Microsoft Teams if you want to push posts there. Each advocate connects their own LinkedIn account from the portal (see Using the advocacy portal).
  2. Build your tags. In Organization settings, then Tags, click Create tag and enter a Name, an optional Description and the Groups it belongs to (for example Region, Function or Advocacy Topic). Groups are managed on the Groups tab.
  3. Choose which tags posts can use. In Organization settings, then Portal, pick tag groups under Advocacy. Only tags in those groups are offered when you create a post. If you pick none, every tag is offered.
  4. Invite advocates. In Organization settings, then Team members, click Invite members. Enter email addresses separated by commas, set Role to Advocate and click Send invite. Invitees show as Pending, with the date the invite was sent, until they accept.
  5. Or share a sign-up link. Click Team sign up link, turn on Enable sign up link, set the role to Advocate, add default Tags, and limit who can join with Allowed domains and Excluded domains. Click Save settings and share the link.
  6. Tag your advocates. Click ⋯ next to a person, then Update tags. To tag many people at once, tick them and click Update tags in the bar at the bottom of the page. The same menu changes someone's role or deactivates them.
  7. Set targeting. In Portal settings, decide whether advocates only see posts that match their tags (Enforce tag matching for portal users) and whether they can pick their own topics (Allow portal user curate their feed). See Portal settings.
  8. Create your first post. See Create an advocacy post.
  9. Check what advocates see. Click View as advocate on the Advocacy page. The portal opens in a new tab.
  10. Track results with Leaderboard on the Advocacy page, or in Analytics, then Advocacy. See Advocacy analytics.

The Team members page counts Admins (paid seats) separately from Recruiters, Advocates and Portal Users.
