Ask Vouch vs the Vouch MCP
Ask Vouch and the Vouch MCP give you the same kind of AI help in two different places.
Use Ask Vouch when you’re working inside Vouch. Use the Vouch MCP when you want to work with Vouch from the AI assistant you already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT.
For most people, Ask Vouch is the best place to start. It’s built in, needs no setup, and is designed around the way you already work in Vouch. The MCP is a great option if your team already relies on an AI assistant or agent and wants Vouch to be part of a wider workflow.

Benefits of Ask Vouch
Ask Vouch is the quickest way to get help with your Vouch work. Open it from within the platform, describe what you want, and it does the job, whether that’s setting up a project, writing request questions, finding clips or building a composition. Because it’s part of Vouch, its replies link straight to the items it creates or changes, so reviewing its work is just a click away.
Choose Ask Vouch if you:
- spend most of your time working inside Vouch
- want help straight away, with nothing to install or configure
- are new to using AI in your work and want the simplest starting point
Try it with Ask Vouch: “Create a project called Team Stories, due 30 November, with a request asking 3 questions about what people enjoy most about working here.”
When to use the Vouch MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to other software. By connecting the Vouch MCP server to an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, you can work with your Vouch content without switching apps, and combine it with other tools that assistant can access.
Choose the Vouch MCP if you:
- already do much of your work in an AI assistant and want Vouch available there too
- want to pull Vouch into workflows that span other tools, such as email, calendar or your CRM
- are building automated workflows or agents that need to work with video content
For example, from your AI assistant you might ask it to check your calendar for next month’s onboarding sessions, create a matching Vouch request for each new starter group, and draft an email inviting them to record.
To get started, follow the installation guide, then see the MCP reference for the full list of supported actions.
You can use both
Ask Vouch and the Vouch MCP aren’t an either-or choice. Many teams use Ask Vouch for everyday tasks inside the platform and the MCP for cross-tool workflows. Anything created through either one appears in your workspace like any other item, so you can start a task in one place and pick it up in the other.
Security and permissions
Both Ask Vouch and the Vouch MCP work only with your workspace and your permissions. They can’t see or change anything you couldn’t access yourself in Vouch, and anything they create or change is saved to your workspace just as if you’d done it manually.
Whichever you use, it’s worth checking AI-generated work before you share it.
