Reviewing and confirming actions

Ask Vouch makes real changes in your workspace, so it’s worth checking its work before you share anything.

When you ask it to create a project, write a request or build a composition, those items are saved straight into Vouch, just as if you’d made them yourself. A quick review makes sure everything is accurate, on-brand and ready for your audience before it goes out.

This article covers how to check what Ask Vouch has done, how to make changes, and how to reverse something you didn’t want.

After Ask Vouch acts

When Ask Vouch finishes a task, its reply includes links to everything it created or changed. Open each one to see the result in full. This is the quickest way to find exactly what was touched, especially when a single prompt has created several items, such as a project with a request inside it.

Check the content

Look over each item with your audience in mind. What to check depends on what Ask Vouch has made:

Requests: read the questions to make sure they’re clear, match your tone and ask for what you need. Then check the settings, including the cover, branding, recorder options and who the request is shared with, before setting it live.

Compositions: watch it through from start to finish. Check that the clips are the right ones and in a sensible order, that captions are accurate (especially names, job titles and company-specific terms), and that the right template and branding have been applied.

Projects: confirm the name, dates, owner and status are correct, so the project shows up in the right place on the Calendar tab.

Edit anything that needs changing

You can make changes in either of two ways, and you can mix them freely.

Recommended: ask Ask Vouch. Describe the change in plain language and it will update the item for you. This is usually the fastest option, particularly for changes across several items or anything involving wording.

Try it with Ask Vouch:

“Make the second question in the Team Stories request more casual.”

“Swap the last clip in the Team Culture composition for one about flexible working.”

“Change the Grad Intake project end date to 15 April.”

Edit directly in Vouch. Open the item and make the change yourself, just as you would with anything you created manually. This can be quicker for small fixes, such as correcting a typo in a caption.

Undoing a change

If Ask Vouch has done something you didn’t intend, you can reverse it.

Something was created. Delete or archive it as you would any other item. Archiving is a good choice if you think you might want it later.

Something was updated. Ask Ask Vouch to change it back, or edit it directly. When asking Ask Vouch, be specific about what to restore, for example:

“Change the questions in the Team Stories request back to how they were before.”

If you’re not sure exactly what changed, open the item from the link in Ask Vouch’s earlier reply and compare it with what you expected.

Tips for fewer surprises

Being specific in your prompt reduces the need for edits later, so include names, dates, numbers and the tone you want. For bigger tasks, it can help to ask Ask Vouch to start with a smaller step, such as drafting the questions before creating the request, so you can check direction before it builds everything. And because requests only reach contributors once they’re live and shared, you always have a chance to review before anyone outside your team sees them.
