Editor updates : June 2026

Following feedback from our customers, Vouch has rolled out a series of upgrades to the Editor.

Templates

The first and most noticeable change is that template elements (such as text cards, graphics, and so on) are now exposed in the timeline, meaning you no longer need to extract elements in order to change these parts of your template.

The second change is that you can now apply templates with question cards, intros, and outros to your video clips. The editor will automatically adjust the position of these elements on the timeline to accommodate the extra items (i.e. push the first clip back so an intro video can be shown).

Grouping

You now have the ability to group any two or more elements within your timeline or on the editable canvas. Simply select the items and press the group icon for them to become associated.

Once grouped, you can apply animations to them, move them around, and more.

Locking

Have something you don't want to move? You can now lock that element (or group) so you don't accidentally click on it when editing in the canvas.

Inline editing

Adjust text boxes directly within the canvas. There's no need to click on Settings anymore - just click on a text box and start typing away.

Duplicate

We've made it easier to make copies of any individual element or group, so you can adjust your compositions more quickly.

Captions panel

To make it easier to see the captions generated and find where in the video a caption appears, we've updated the captions panel. Now when you generate captions, you can see a list of every instance of the caption in the left-hand panel, and click the play button to jump to it in the timeline.

Other upgrades

Some of the other feedback that has been rolled out includes:

  • New right-click menu: Access key functions like splitting, grouping, duplicating, and more directly from the timeline by right-clicking.
  • Cropping: You can now crop your videos without needing to extract elements — just click on the video and the crop button to get going.
  • Rotate: You can now rotate any element by grabbing a corner and rotating, similar to other editor tools.

In case you missed it

  • No need to Publish: You no longer need to worry about pressing publish each time you make a change to your composition. Changes are auto-saved, and the video is rendered when it's time to share.
  • Animation presets: We've made it easier than ever to apply animations to any item within your composition.
