Compositions overview

A composition is an edited video you build in Vouch from your own content: responses, uploads, Sync recordings, b-roll, brand assets, music and text. Use compositions to turn raw recordings into finished, on-brand videos for careers sites, social media, internal comms and campaigns.

What you can do with a composition

  • Combine clips from several people into one story
  • Add your logo, intros, outros and brand colours from your brand kit
  • Add background music, text, images and shapes
  • Generate captions, and translate them into another language
  • Apply animations, transitions and templates
  • Resize the video for landscape, vertical or square channels

Ways to create a composition

From scratch

  • Click Compositions in the left navigation.
  • Click Create new composition, or use + Create.
  • Give your composition a name.
  • The composition editor opens with an empty canvas. Add videos from the Videos panel to get started.

From your Library

  • Open the Library and search or filter for the videos and images you want.
  • Select them, then click Add to Composition in the bulk action menu.
  • Choose an existing composition or create a new one.

From highlights

  • Open a video and go to its Highlights tab.
  • Select one or more highlights.
  • Open the overflow menu (…) in the batch action menu and choose Add to composition.
  • Choose an existing composition or create a new one.

With Ask Vouch

  • In the Library, select the videos you want to work with and click Ask Vouch.
  • Choose Highlights, then pick a suggested prompt or write your own.
  • Select the clips you want, then click Create and choose Create composition.

From a playlist

  • Open the playlist, click Edit, then choose Convert to composition in the top right of the playlist editor.

Find your compositions

All compositions live under Compositions in the left navigation, and inside the Project they belong to. Click a composition to see its details, then open it in the editor to keep working.

Saving

The editor saves automatically. Saved in the top right confirms your latest change is stored. You can close the editor at any time with X and pick up where you left off.
